The customer

Falcon Autotech is an Indian OEM that provides intralogistics and warehouse automation solutions. They manufacture various types of machines for the logistics industry, including sorters, dimension- and weight-scanning systems plus check weighers, etc.

They primarily provide customized solutions to Indian customers but are now aggressively promoting their products in the Middle East too. Thanks to the opportunity presented at the Logistics Exhibition in Delhi, our Indian sales team met Falcon and had the chance to work together.

Application

This belt is currently being used for a parcel rejection application. The parcels are required to be rejected perpendicularly to the direction the conveyor runs in. In the past, a conventional fabric belt was used for this application.

However, the problem with that was that the belt edge was damaged due to the lateral movement of the parcels. The belt’s service life is reduced as a result.

Our belting solution

After liaising with Falcon, the Prolink plastic modular belt series 8 rollertop (i.e. S8-0RTP A90 POM blue) is the best solution for the customer to deal with the problem. Thanks to the innovative design of the rollertop concept (products can be conveyed at a 90-degree angle), the belt edge is no longer damaged – in contrast to the fabric belt.

There are no more problems with the belt shifting sideways like the fabric belt did thanks to the sprocket driving mechanism in the plastic modular belts.

Result

Similarly to other OEMs, Falcon installed the Prolink belt for testing. The belt is now operating superbly at several end-users without any issues and also fulfilling Falcon’s expectations regarding the service life.
