Forbo Flooring Systems has donated over 100 sqm of its Tessera carpet tiles to an after-school club located within the grounds of a primary school in Bristol. With the original carpet unfit for purpose and in dire need of replacement, Forbo’s donation has been used to help transform the space, making it more comfortable for the children and staff.
Established in 1992 and located within the grounds of the Frampton Cotterell Church of England Primary School, OSCARS is a non-profit childcare group that provides after-school care and holiday play schemes for children living in the Bristol area.
Zoe Trevett, whose son attends the primary school where the club is located, sits on the voluntary committee responsible for building maintenance of the space where OSCARS is hosted. As an interior designer specialising in the commercial sector, she was well aware of Forbo and the high performance of its products, having specified a wide range of them over the years.
She said: “The condition of the old carpet in the OSCARS room was so poor and we were in desperate need of something new. The material was too coarse considering how it was being used; it was more like barrier matting, making it quite unpleasant for the children to play on. From an aesthetic point of view, it had been patched up over the years, so it really didn’t look great either.”
“I decided to speak to my contacts at Forbo and the team offered to donate some of its surplus Tessera Inline carpet tiles to use within the space. This not only freshened the room up in terms of how it looked, but it also gave the children a far nicer and more comfortable base to play and learn on. They absolutely love it, and we can’t thank Forbo enough for their help arranging this!”
Forbo’s Tessera carpet tiles are ideally suited to the high traffic environment of the childcare facilities, being attractive, hard wearing and modular in their construction. The tufted carpet tiles are available in a variety of pile constructions and textures, as well as a range of contemporary and classic styles, perfect for sprucing up existing spaces.
This latest donation is a further demonstration of Forbo’s commitment to giving back to local communities and helping to create better environments.
