    Well-being starts here

We made it our mission to design and offer products that contribute in a positive way to the health and comfort of the individual by bringing nature in.

In a world where we spend on average 85% of our time indoors, it only feels natural to give full focus on improving the quality of our indoor environment. Marmoleum fits into biophilia designs for schools, healthcare institutions, workplaces, leisure centres and living spaces by creating the opportunity to bring the best from nature to our indoor surroundings.

Marmoleum contributes to each and everyone's well-being on many levels. Marmoleum is designed to contribute to a safe, hygienic and comfortable environment. The floors are easy to clean, bacteriostatic, have antiviral properties and are allergy approved. Its tactility and beautiful colours influence all your senses. Thanks to its biobased raw materials and continuous life cycle improvements, we are able to create a climate positive floor that contributes to a sustainable future. Marmoleum floors improve the environmental and well-being score in building rating schemes such as LEED, BREEAM and the Well building standard.

    Marmoleum: eco-friendly floor

With Marmoleum, you choose a sustainable floor that is climate positive (cradle to gate). From the origins to the final product, without buying carbon credits.

The construction industry is one of the major contributors of carbon emissions that cause climate change. Therefore, we are looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint to combat global warming. The use of environmentally friendly building materials is becoming increasingly important when designing a new construction project.

Forbo aims to contribute to solving climate change issues by developing environmentally friendly flooring solutions.
Our Marmoleum floors are made from 98% natural raw materials such as linseed oil, wood flour, limestone, resin and jute. Marmoleum is unique as it has CO2 uptake in the product itself. The photosynthesis of the biobased materials used in Marmoleum provides CO2 uptake that exceeds the CO2 emissions caused by transportation and production processing. Therefore, Marmoleum is climate positive (or carbon negative) from cradle to gate.
